The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness among children and highlight the vital role of trees in reducing heat, improving air quality, protecting biodiversity, and creating a healthier environment.
The children actively participated in planting saplings and were encouraged to take responsibility for their care and growth. President of FJMEMORIAL, Huma Jamal, briefed the children about the environmental benefits of trees and the importance of protecting and preserving nature.
The Sindh Forest Department supported the initiative by providing 150 saplings for the plantation drive, making a significant contribution to the environmental awareness campaign.
The organizers said that such activities bring together environmental protection, community participation and the spirit of Sadqa-e-Jaria, while encouraging children to play a positive role in building a greener and healthier Sindh.
The plantation drive also served as an opportunity to instill a sense of responsibility among children and demonstrate how small community-led actions can contribute to a more sustainable future.
